چکیده

The problem of community detection from noisy observations of interactions between individuals has important applications to diverse areas such as biology, sociology, and computer science. This problem is particularly interesting when the number of interactions is on the order of the size of the populations, that is the graph where two interacting individuals are connected by an edge is sparse. One model which has been studied extensively is the labelled stochastic block model. In this model a planted partition is used to generate a random graph with a random edge labelling. In the sparse case the goal is to recover communities which are correlated with the planted partition, that is partially recover the planted partition. Over the course of a number of papers a threshold has been established where partial recovery transitions from impossible to possible. We aim to strengthen these results and find the expected optimal overlap with the planted partition in the regime where partial recovery is possible.

Random Walks on the finite Components of random Partial Graphs of Transitive Graphs

The expected n-step return-probability EμP [X̂n = o] of a random walk X̂n with symmetric transition probabilities on a random partial graph of a regular graph G of degree δ with transitive automorphism group Aut(G) is considered. The law μ of the random edge-set is assumed to be stationary with respect to some transitive, unimodular subgroup Γ of Aut(G). By the spectral theory of finite random wa...

Models of random regular graphs

This is a survey of results on properties of random regular graphs, together with an exposition of some of the main methods of obtaining these results. Related results on asymptotic enumeration are also presented, as well as various generalisations to random graphs with given degree sequence. A major feature in this area is the small subgraph conditioning method. When applicable, this establish...

On the asymmetry of random regular graphs and random graphs

This paper studies the symmetry of random regular graphs and random graphs. Our main result shows that for all 3 ≤ d ≤ n − 4 the random d-regular graph on n vertices almost surely has no non-trivial automorphisms. This answers an open question of N. Wormald [13].

Robustness of Random Graphs Based on Natural Connectivity

Recently, it has been proposed that the natural connectivity can be used to efficiently characterise the robustness of complex networks. Natural connectivity quantifies the redundancy of alternative routes in a network by evaluating the weighted number of closed walks of all lengths and can be regarded as the average eigenvalue obtained from the graph spectrum. In this article, we explore the n...

On random regular graphs with non-constant degree

We study random r-regular labelled graphs with n vertices. For r = 0(n ) we give the asymptotic number of them and show that they are almost all r-connected and hamiltonian. Proofs are based on the analysis of a simple algorithm for finding "almost" random regular graphs. (Diversity Libraries §
